I love flowers, but forever & always, my favourite flowers will be the ones that come as the first signs that winter is over. I love the wildflowers & the weeds - and nothing makes me happier than seeing fields of happy yellow dandelions, buttercups, bluebells, and daisies. 

I also love these willow trees. They sit in a secret spot I visit sometimes, taking long drives to the river to listen to podcasts, or singing along as obnoxiously as possible to Adele albums, and you can go right underneath them, in this great big sea of dandelions, while the branches wave to and fro above in the wind. It's one of my favourite spots in Chilliwack. 

Here's just a little portrait session with Hannah, on an incredibly beautiful May day in our beautiful spring-filled city. 

Also: a quick little note to say that this is the last week to sign up for the 24 Hour Portrait Project, happening this June. AND I've added session spots open for Saturday June 2, and Thursday June 7th. June is one of my favourite months to shoot in - hit me up and let's make some magic together!

Floral Beauty Sessions - April 13

So excited to announce a small run of Floral Beauty Sessions with Blossom with Quik Pik and D'lux Beauty Parlour! 

Sessions are short & sweet, and include a floral feature from Blossom! Sessions are happening from 6-8 p.m. on Friday April 13th, with only 4 spots available. Sessions are $285, and include 5 digital files of your choice from a downloadable online gallery, and are about 20 minutes each in length. Add on Hair and Makeup for $115 from Melissa at D'lux Beauty Parlour! 

To book: 

- A $100 nonrefundable retainer is due at the time of booking to secure your photo shoot spot 

- To book hair and makeup, payment is due in full at the time of booking.

The 24 Hr Portrait Project | March 23-24 2018

Update: So excited to say this project is BOOKED! Thank you to everyone who reached out and felt as excited as I do about what we're doing! This shoot is also going to represent some amazing Chilliwack women, with women making up about 80% of our bookings. If you're booked and confirmed (if you're on the list below) I'll be in touch closer to our shoot date with our exact time and meet up location, and any other planning details we need to solidify!

CONCEPT:

This project is not about getting the perfect head shot, or taking a full session worth of images, it's about capturing a little glimpse of the amazing people that make up our awesome space in the world.

The concept is simple: once an hour, for 24 hours, I'll be taking one portrait in Chilliwack, B.C. Each portrait will use: available space, may use available light or artificial light, and focus on documentary style portraiture. This project is open to everyone!

I'll also be drinking lots of coffee, with my awesome assistant Audra.

DATE:

March 23, starting at 7 a.m. - March 24, ending at 7 a.m. (sunrise to sunrise)

LOCATION:

All over Chilliwack, B.C. When you sign up for your spot, please feel free to give us some background on what you think would work best for location. We have a long list of spaces we will be using, but will travel - and the more options we have the better! Locations are indoors & outdoors.

THE RULES:

A maximum of 4-5 images will be taken for each hour portrait, but only 1 portrait will be chosen.

1 portrait, per hour.

As a thank you for participating, those who sign up will receive 1 digital file of their project image.

Images will be posted online, with behind the scenes stories on Instagram and Facebook.

A nonrefundable retainer must be paid to hold your spot. The $25 retainer holds your spot only. 

FEES:

Cost: $25. This books the session that takes place in that hour spot. Because the fee holds your spot in the project, it's nonrefundable, and must be paid upon booking. If you sleep past your 3 a.m session, you will not receive a portrait, and your spot will be forfeited to whoever is hanging out in a moody diner at 3 a.m. (um, probably me and Audra!). Bookings require a signed model release, and the booking fee paid - once you sign up, I'll be in touch with details about how to pay your $25 fee. 

HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR PORTRAIT:

Your portrait can be as fun and as quirky as you want it to be. I have dreams of posing someone in the middle of the street with a stack full of pancakes, and I don't even know why. FEEL FREE TO DO THIS. Or, just show up in what you're wearing. These portraits are little snapshots of you, in a small period of time - come as you are, or however you want to be.

AGES:

Anyone under the age of 19 will require a parent or legal guardian to sign the contract, and be on site for the session.

TIME:

Each session will be about 5-10 minutes, taken within the hour.

YOU'RE AWESOME SESSION GIVEAWAY!!!!!

Sarah Sovereign Photography and Jennifer Foik Photography are running a giveaway from February 5 to May 1, 2018!

We're trying something a little different!

Here’s how it works:

When you book a session with us any time between February 5-May 1, 2018 you get to nominate one person or family who deserves a free session from us. Tell us why you chose this person/family, and what makes them awesome!

An image from YOUR shoot plus your write up will be entered into our You’re Awesome Giveaway Facebook album and we want others to share encouragement via comments to anyone nominated! Every positive, uplifting comment on the picture/about the person you nominated will count as an extra entry in the contest (Only 1 comment counts per person, but feel free to share the love as many times as you want!)

The drawing will be on May 2, 2018! There are two sessions up for grabs, one with Jennifer Foik Photography, and one with Sarah Sovereign Photography (but hey! We’re going to shoot each winner’s session together!)
