Artist Statement

Sarah Sovereign is a neurodivergent visual artist and registered clinical counsellor in Chilliwack, B.C. Her work explores grief, including her own experiences with loss, as well as personal storytelling, photo essays around mental health, and objects as portraits. As a healing-informed narrative photographer, she often creates with her subjects - forming visual stories around emotion, loss, trauma, and memory.

Sarah has a Visual Arts diploma, VA and English extended minors, and a Bachelor of General Studies from the University of the Fraser Valley as well as an MC in Counselling from City University of Seattle (Vancouver). Her counselling website can be found here.
